Ciara est née à Austin, Texas, en 1986. Avec un père militaire, il est rare de rester au même endroit toute sa vie, et c'est ce qui arrive à la petite fille qui déménage souvent, de l'Allemagne à New York en passant par l'Arizona ou le Texas et c'est à Atlanta qu'elle va finir par se poser.

A l'adolescence, Ciara est fan des Destiny's Child, et rêve déjà d'être chanteuse. Déterminée, elle consacre toute son énergie à sa passion pour la musique et fait partie d'un groupe 100% filles qu'elle quitte pour approfondir la travail d'écriture de ses chansons.

C'est alors qu'elle fait la connaissance du producteur Jazze Pha, une rencontre qui sera déterminante pour la jeune-fille qui peut véritablement commencer sa carrière musicale.

Elle compose une première version du titre "Goodies" qui séduit immédiatement le rappeur et producteur Lil Jon. Ce dernier décide de produire le morceau qui devient un hit estival en 2004.

En septembre de la même année, "Goodies", le premier album de la chanteuse sexy et tendance, surnommée par Lil Jon « La First Lady du Crunk'n'B », sort dans les bacs et conquiert le dancefloor.

Après un tel succès, on attend avec impatience l'album "Sophomore", annoncé pour 2006
